Macon, GA (Top40 Charts/ Glass Onyon PR) - Joey Stuckey is vying to bring back the era of the guitar hero...a coveted time when names like Clapton, Page and Stevie-Ray adorned the pages of every rock magazine on the planet. The Macon, Georgia native releases his new album, entitled The Shadow Sound, which promises to deliver a penetrating mix of blues, rock, pop and jazz, bringing back to the forefront a time when it was the music that really mattered. Music fans should mark their calendars for December 26, when Virtuoso Music releases the album.

"I was truly blown away by his guitar and songwriting versatility" - mentions Victor McLean, founder of Virtuoso Music - recalling the first time he heard Joey. "To me, he will be an inspiration to the many kids out there picking up a guitar for the first time, and also to music fanatics who are searching for something unique. We feel that Joey will have a Phish or a Dave Matthews type following when you consider his material and the caliber of performance that he is capable of delivering."

McLean has 20 years experience in the music industry, having served as National Promotions Director with Verve Music Group in addition to facilitating the releases of urban and jazz artists with Warner/Elektra/Atlantic, Universal Music & Video Distribution and Navarre Distribution. Victor has worked the music of such internationally acclaimed artists as George Benson, Quincy Jones, George Duke, Stanley Clarke, Al Jarreau, Joe Sample, David Sanborn, Wayne Shorter, Chris Botti, Diana Krall, Steely Dan, McCoy Tyner and many others. Other artists on the Virtuoso roster include jazz legend Stanley Clarke's Roxbury Entertainment Group and actor/blues guitarist Steven Segal.
The Shadow Sound creates an eclectic blend of musical influences spearheaded by Stuckey's guitar and vocal prowess. Blues fans will no doubt identify with Runnin' ("Cuz your kind, are a dime a dozen, And I've had my fill") while rock aficionados will take a liking to the guitar-driven Take a Walk in the Shadows and Mr. Mooney. Even those who prefer a touch a pop will appreciate the memorable Bad Dreams and So Blue which features keyboardist/saxophonist Randall Bramblett of Traffic (Steve Winwood) and Sea Level (Chuck Leavell). David Ragsdale, violinist of Smashing Pumpkins and Kansas is also featured on the album.

"Joey is by far one of the most talented musicians I've ever played with" - mentions Hugh Hession, Stuckey's keyboardist, co-producer and assistant engineer - "and I've shared the stage with some of the best. People often refer to him as a real-life guitar hero, not only because he's a great player, but he's the real deal...as genuine as a person can be."

With no sight or sense of smell (the result of a brain tumor as an infant), Joey refused to acknowledge the word "disability." He graduated high school at age 14 and went on to study guitar from renowned guitarists Terry Cantwell, Steven Crowell and Stanley Jordan. His playing style developed into that of rocker Jeff Beck and a jazzier Wes Montgomery, while his vocal influences range from Mel Torme to Gregg Allman. The late music impresario Ian Copeland, founder of Frontier Booking International (FBI) and brother of The Police's Stewart Copeland once said that Joey was one of the best guitarists around.

Joey Stuckey proudly plays Greg Bennett guitars by Samick. On the cover of his new CD The Shadow Sound, Joey is featured with his La Salle Greg Bennett guitars, which is the guitar used on many of his recordings and live performances. Says Tony De La Rosa, Artist Relations/Marketing Manager for Samick Music Corporation, "There are few players out there like Joey who are true artists in every sense of the word. Yes, Joey is a dynamic and soulful guitar player, but when you add singer, songwriter, producer and engineer (and this is just the 'short list') to the mix, the guy is more like a musician/super hero, possessing the talent of at least ten ordinary men! But, beyond that, Joey has passion for what he does, he cares about others, and if that weren't enough, he is a really nice guy. Seriously, where did this guy come from? You just don't meet guys like Joey Stuckey every day, and I consider it an honor and privilege to have him as a member of the Samick/Greg Bennett family."

Joey Stuckey, The Shadow Sound will be available on 12/26 in all digital outlets including ITunes. The CD will be available at all conventional brick aand mortar retail outlets early 2011.
