Seattle, WA(Top40 Charts/ RealNetworks) - RealNetworks, Inc., the digital entertainment services company, today announced that Judith Bitterli has been named Chief Marketing Officer, reporting to CEO Bob Kimball. Bitterli brings 25 years of executive-level marketing and business operations leadership to her role at Real, which is focused on creating growth strategies for the company.

"Our 2010 plan was built around three elements: Simplify, Restructure and Grow," said Bob Kimball, Real's CEO. "We have made significant progress in simplifying and restructuring our business and can now turn our attention to growth. I am pleased that Judy is part of the executive team driving this imperative."

Over the last year, Bitterli has provided strategic marketing consulting services for Real, focusing on the company's upcoming launch of a personal media cloud service for consumers. Previously, she was co-owner of Direct Impact, a marquis direct marketing agency serving clients such as Sony, HP, Best Buy and Logitech. Her past experience includes roles at Micron Electronics, where she acted as general manager of Internet strategy and vice president of sales and service, and at Softbank, where she was executive vice president in charge of a broad range of sales, marketing and operations functions across Softbank's companies.

"RealNetworks' rich heritage in delivering digital media to millions of people daily provides us with an enormous worldwide user base and an incredible platform for growth," said Bitterli. "I'm excited about Real's future and very pleased to have the opportunity to be part of it."

Bitterli, a Veteran of the US Army, will relocate from Austin, Texas in early 2011 to join Real's Seattle office.
