LOS ANGELES (Top 40 Charts) - U2's manager has gone on the record to confirm that the band will indeed return to North America for more shows in the fall. Speaking to the group's official website, U2.com, Paul McGuinness says the band will wrap up what will be its nine-month-long Elevation tour on this side of the Atlantic, indicating that the shows will run into December (the tour kicked off on March 24 in Florida). When it's over, U2 will have played 105 concerts this year and sold more than 2 million tickets.

McGuinness also confirmed that the June 6 show filmed at the FleetCenter in Boston will be released on DVD in time for the holidays, and that talks are being held for a shorter version of that concert to be shown on TV around the world in late autumn. In June, singer-guitarist the Edge told U2.com, "We are attempting to make a definitive TV live show of this tour, probably for broadcast at the end of year, maybe around Thanksgiving."
