New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Councilmen Official Website) The Councilmen have been selected to perform at the 2011
National Association of
Music Merchants (NAMM) Show, on January 13, 2011, at 5pm on the outdoor Wanna Play Stage. NAMM is held every year at the Anaheim Convention Center, and is attended by over 85,000 registrants from 100 countries along with 1,400 exhibitors all interested in the same thing, music.
The Councilmen were selected from an "overwhelming number of submission" says stage manager Greg Herreman, the band is thrilled about the opportunity. The submission was quite a process, as bands have to be submitted by an exhibiter attending the show. Los Cabos Drumsticks submitted on their behalf, as the Councilmen's drummer Taylor Haley has been endorsed by the company for past year. (https://www.loscabosdrumsticks.com/)
The announcement of their performance slot comes on the heels of the official retail release of their self titled CD "The Councilmen", produced by Rodney Powell. Powell, a 30-year veteran of the music business, initially heard some of their demo's and immediately expressed his interest to produce the band. "Many bands never get the chance to get their music heard, with the writing of Keaton York and the music arrangements-this band is the one to watch." Says Powell.
During the production of the CD, Powell brought in a few of the music industry's finest to contribute to the recordings. Keith West from Heartland laid down backup vocals to several of The Councilmen tracks, including their Radio single "Pieces Of You". West said "The Councilmen Rock! They are some awesome guys with some great tunes, and I really enjoyed working with them in the studio!"
Eugene Moles, guitarist for Waymore's Outlaws, (Waylon Jennings' original band), Tim Strutton, keyboard player for Fleetwood Mac, and Nashville studio musician Tim Lawles, all added their talents to several tracks as well.
The Councilmen have quickly grabbed the attention of industry and fans, as their song "Boxcar Sermon" was featured on the GAC national video channel. Additionally, the band was selected out of thousands of acts to appear live on the CBS Early Show, and their radio single "Pieces of You" was just added to the Muzak library. And now with their recent selection to perform at NAMM, the band is experiencing the impact their music is creating on a mass level.
