Las Vegas, NV & Basking Ridge, NJ (Top40 Charts/ Verizon Wireless) From the 2011 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), TuneWiki today announced that its award-winning social music player will be available as a pre-installed application on select 4G smartphones on the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE
Mobile Broadband network, beginning later this year.
TuneWiki's social music player provides real-time, subtitled lyrics as users listen to their stored library of music, watch music videos or stream Internet radio from all over the world. To discover new music from around the world, users can view music maps and geography-based Top 50 charts inside the application. With the advanced speed and power of the 4G LTE network, users can quickly search for more than 2.5 million lyrics, automatically translate lyrics to more than 40 languages while they listen, and connect even faster to their social networks.
"The use of data-intensive features, such as streaming radio, music videos and real-time mapping, requires a network that can seamlessly support these features for the user," said Larry Goldberg, president and chief operating officer of TuneWiki. "Verizon Wireless' 4G LTE network makes it possible to offer our users an even better experience, which is critical as we continue to build and improve our music playing experience."
The Verizon Wireless 4G LTE Mobile Broadband network, launched in December 2010, is the fastest, most advanced 4G network in the United States, providing speeds up to 10 times faster than Verizon Wireless' 3G network. Consumer devices with a wide range of applications are expected to be available by mid-2011. Verizon Wireless' 4G LTE Mobile Broadband network currently reaches one-third of all Americans, with plans to expand the network to the company's entire 3G coverage area over the next three years.
More details on TuneWiki's social music player app will be available during CES in Verizon Wireless' booth (No 35216 in the South Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center).
