Corinne Bailey Rae Nominated For NAACP Image Award For Outstanding Female Artist
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Capitol Records) British singer-songwriter Corinne Bailey Rae has been nominated for an NAACP Image Award in the Outstanding Female Artist category. Bailey Rae was previously honored with nominations in 2007 for Outstanding Album for her self-titled full-length, as well as Outstanding Female Artist, and was given the award for Outstanding New Artist in that same year. The Image Award nomination completes a year that saw Corinne nominated for a BET Award, Soul Train Award, Q Award, MOBO and short-listed for the UK's prestigious Mercury Prize. The 42nd installment of the NAACP Image Awards celebrates the accomplishments of people of color in the fields of television, music, literature and film, and will air live on March 4 at 8pm EST on FOX.

Bailey Rae is also gearing up to release The Love EP on January 25 via Capitol Records. The Love EP is a five-song collection of covers that Bailey Rae calls an "homage to some of my favorite musicians, as well as a conversation between some of my musical influences." The release includes cover tracks by Bailey Rae of Prince, Bob Marley, Paul McCartney and Wings and others. Bailey Rae co-produced each track on The Love EP with Steve Brown who co-produced Bailey Rae's latest album The Sea, which bowed in the Top 10 on Billboard's Top 200 chart in February 2010.

More recently, The Sea made the Associated Press' Top 10 Albums of 2010 list as well as year-end lists for theLos Angeles Times and People, capping off a very successful year for the singer. The New York Times hailed The Seaas "a major creative leap forward" and People noted in a four-star, Critic's Choice review: "she captivates with a haunting, heartbreaking set that's almost painfully exquisite." In addition Bailey Rae toured extensively in 2010, including two North American outings that featured sold-out headlining shows, a performance at Coachella Music and Arts Festival and a series of summer dates with Norah Jones. Bailey Rae appeared on numerous television shows, including "TODAY," "Late Show with David Letterman" "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon," "The Early Show," "Live with Regis & Kelly," "Jimmy Kimmel Live," "Ellen," "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson," "Tavis Smiley" and "The Mo'Nique Show." Finally Bailey Rae finished the year by performing for the President at the White House in honor of Paul McCartney, collaborating with Herbie Hancock on the Beatles classic "Blackbird". She was also chosen by the Urban League to perform at their Centennial gala in November.
