Little Texas; The Rival Sons, and a surprise superstar guest for a four-hour ACES & ANGELS (aces-angels.org) concert that is part of the kick-off event for Super Bowl XLV week in Dallas on February 2 at Centennial Hall.
Simmons, star of A&E's Reality Series Gene Simmons' Family Jewels, will host 1,000 Texas servicemen and women, along with more than 3,500 partygoers at the 2011 Aces and Angels Salute to the Troops, a benefit supporting The Wounded Warrior Project and the USO. The festivities will be filmed for an upcoming episode of Simmons' hit show.
In addition to the evening's concert, ACES & ANGELS, along with world-famous card players Jamie Gold, Scotty Nguyen and Kenna James, will host The Texas State Poker Tournament (prize package worth $100,000). Up to 600 ticketholders may enter the Texas State Tournament at no charge, and the Texas Shoot-Out style games begin at 11 a.m. The winning player will advance and have the chance to play the championship round with Gene Simmons and Phil Hellmuth and celebrity players like Shannon Elizabeth, Jennifer Leigh, Tiffany Michelle, Liz Liu, Trishelle Cannatella, Kim Kardashian, Dane Cook, and more. The winner of that championship round will represent the State of Texas at the World Series of Poker.
ACES & ANGELS' guests will also be treated to the Salute to the Troops ceremony and presentation, the Taste of Texas Buffet, Las Vegas style casino games, auctions and the unveiling of the one-of-a-kind Gene Simmons Demon Bike and more. The organization began in 2007 and has raised more than $427,000 to date.
