LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts) - Jewel has "completed the recording process" for her upcoming fourth album, tentatively titled "This Way" and scheduled for a Nov. 13 via Atlantic. The singer/songwriter is currently in the "final mixing stages" of the project, according to newsletter circulated to fans by her management company. A yet-to-be-determined single will precede the disc in October.

Largely produced by Dann Huff (Megadeth, Faith Hill), "This Way" reportedly plays host to a number of musical styles, including hard pop, bossa nova, and blues rock. Although an Atlantic spokesperson could not confirm any titles, possible cuts include "Shadows Play" and "Serve the Ego," both co-written with songwriter Itaal Shur.

"Jesus Loves You," recorded by Creed producer John Kurzweg and said to feature Vandals/A Perfect Circle drummer Josh Freese, plus "Love Me Just Leave Me Alone," a Bob Dylan-inspired staple of Jewel's live shows, are also strong contenders to make the final cut.

"This Way" is Jewel's first studio album since 1998's "Spirit," which debuted at No. 3 on The Billboard 200 and has sold 3.53 million copies in the U.S. to date, according to SoundScan. It was followed by the 1999 Christmas set, "Joy: A Holiday Celebration," which mixed seasonal favorites with several original compositions.

Jewel performs Sunday (Aug. 19) and Monday in San Diego.
