Satriani Protege Jon Mulvey With Al Dimeola Feb 17 @ Canyon Club
San Francisco, CA (Top40 Charts/ Tom Kidd PR) After 10 years as a member of Mingus and as protege to legendary guitarist Joe Satriani, Jon Mulvey steps front and center with the release of a rocking collection of instrumental guitar, "This and That," on San Francisco-based label Two Hearts Records. Jon is in top form these days, recently landing an opening slot for Al DiMeola at the Canyon Club in Agoura Hills. (28912 Roadside Dr., Agoura Hills, CA 818-879-5016. Discount tickets are $25 at www.jonmulvey.net.

The "This and That Tour" kicked off with Jon in New Zealand four days after its release late in 2010. This all original CD written and produced by Jon includes Stuart Hamm on bass and Jerry Marotta on drums and percussion.
The globe-trotting artist hails from Los Angeles, California, where he picked up his first guitar when he was just seven years old. Formal Jazz guitar training started at age 11 and he began touring internationally at 15 with top acts. He earned a music composition degree in the Bay Area and then studied under guitar great Joe Satriani. After vaulting onto the world stage, Mulvey directed his expertise to the studio, where he has participated in over 1500 recordings. But playing guitar, bass, or keys, as well as engineering, producing, and mastering albums in the studio, are only a few of his talents.

Jon spent a decade as a member of Mingus, with Dorian Mingus (son of legendary Jazz Bassist/Composer Charles Mingus). Mulvey combined business savvy with his love for music and launched the Catastrophe Music Label with his business partner. The label has sold over 240,000 units worldwide. Mulvey has also been the lead guitarist for all these recordings.

He currently has started a new label, Two Hearts Records, focused on world and instrumental music with his new partner, Deborah Yates. Mulvey is also a sponsored clinician for Peavey Amps and Ibanez Guitars. Mulvey combines his formidable training with innate talent to help shape his projects' unique sounds, which include world fusion band Vortex Tribe, acoustic world Due Cuori, rock'n Jon Mulvey's Rockethouse and his other solo projects.
You can purchase Jon's "This and That" and other products at www.TwoHeartsRecords.com and fine music stores worldwide.
