About the 2011 KCRS Live! songwriters and artists:
Bob DiPiero - For the past 20 years, Bob DiPiero has helped define the best that is Music Row. A legendarily funny and compelling performer, he is one of a handful setting the bar for present-day songwriter/entertainers. Bob is also a key part of the city's new leadership, a board member of the Country Music Association, a Leadership Nashville alumnus and former Nashville Songwriters Association, Inc. president who brings the creative and business communities together as few can.
Bob is one of Nashville's most consistent and prolific writers of hits, and he remains at the top of his profession more than two decades after hitting No. 1 on the charts for the first time in 1983. The reason is a pure love of the creative process. As a raconteur, he may have no equal among his peers, and as a musical ambassador and bridge-builder, he has helped make Nashville a port of call for legendary performers from all genres, writing with Neil Diamond, Carole King, Johnny Van Zant and Delbert McClinton, among many others.
Aaron Lewis - Country music comes naturally for Aaron Lewis. In fact, the Staind frontman never strayed very far from Country. It's something that he grew up with. It's something that he comes back to. It's something that inspires him. It's something that's in his blood. Hints of that are present in the stripped honesty and acoustic melodies of Staind hits such as "Outside," "It's Been Awhile," and "So Far Away."
With Aaron Lewis at the helm, Staind has amassed a loyal multitude of fans, selling over 13 million records to date. Those fans have followed Aaron as he has embarked on numerous solo acoustic tours in recent years, performing both Staind classics as well as an ever-changing array of material from songwriters he admires. Aaron premiered his debut solo single, "Country Boy," for those audiences in the fall of 2010 to overwhelming response, and the recent video release for this single has already accumulated well over 2 million views between YouTube and CMT.com alone.
Aaron's debut solo EP, Town Line, will be released March 1 via Stroudavarious Records.
LoCash Cowboys - LoCash Cowboys ushered in the summer of 2010 with "Here Comes Summer," their debut Top 40 Country single that brandished every ounce of their trademark energy. The band's current single, "Keep In Mind," displays a softer, more philosophical side. Both songs will be featured on their Stroudavarious debut album, This Is How We Do It, a fitting introduction to a compellingly charismatic and multi-faceted duo.
Comprised of band members Chris Lucas and Preston Brust, the duo is aware of the dichotomy between their larger-than-life on-stage personas and their humble small town roots, referring to it as something that helps make them relatable to their ever-expanding audience. They also realize they are blessed to be a part of something that brings them so much professional satisfaction and personal focus, citing that the LoCash in their name reflects the importance of remembering who you are and where you came from.
This Is How We Do It is set for a late Spring release on Stroudavarious Records.
Jeffrey Steele - Jeffrey Steele is an extraordinary songwriter who can boast having over 500 songs cut in the past eight years by over 100 artists, with more than 80 Top 10, Top 5, and No. 1 songs combined, over 35 million plays on radio and television, and 95 singles released from more than 75 Gold and Platinum albums. Some of the biggest stars in country music have cut his songs, including Rascal Flatts, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Trace Adkins, Montgomery Gentry, Diamond Rio, LeAnn Rimes, Randy Travis, Lonestar and many more.
Jeffrey is the recipient of more than 50 writer awards, including those from the CMA, ACM, BMI and NSAI. He has been nominated for several Grammys and a Golden Globe. He is also a multi-platinum producer of Montgomery Gentry, Keith Anderson, John Waite and LoCash Cowboys. In his own words, Jeffrey is "a lover of words and stories of life and tradition."
