New York, NY (Top40 Charts / WomensRadio.com) WomensRadio.com, the aggregating radio Website, is re-learning the alphabet this year, South by Southwest style. This is accomplished by enrolling listeners in the 'SXSW 2011 ABC's' throughout the month of February; and with twenty-six exclusive spotlights of Official Showcasing Bands containing at least one female member, it's as easy as "A, B, C" for readers to engage with each group via original content provided by the WomensRadio staff, hi-res images, fairy-tale lettering and engaging video content. All-in-all, each featured performing artist or group is given the opportunity to stand out amongst thousands of other equally-impressive selections while being discovered by the targeted demographic of women leaders.
In the newly-created SXSW 2011 alphabet, the letter G stands for The Good Natured, and as so eloquently stated by WomensRadio Columnist, Whitney Lewis , "Sarah Mcintosh, vocalist for The Good Natured, along with band mates Hamish and
George has led the group from her bedroom floor on a Yamaha keyboard rescued from her grandma to the 2011 South by Southwest music festival to showcase their new album 'Your Body is a Machine'!
When thinking of the phrase 'good-natured', one might visualize someone sweet, soft and bubbly ... that loving sweetheart we all know. But think again! This time think Blondie's' evil twin.
Sarah Mcintosh has short black hair, dark smokey eyes and often drapes herself in dark colors, but she shares one similarity with Blondie, which is the ability to create simple, catchy, retro pop verses!"
When asked to share a couple specifics about The Good Natured's style, Ms. Lewis offered the following account:
The Good Natured is a mixture of electronic, pop and goth with extremely pointy vocals that resemble The Subways. Many tracks have an ominous 'bad guy' vibe that will make listeners feel rebellious and maybe even possessed! Yet, this dark vibe is paired with energetic electronic beats you can dance to!
Their track 'Be My Animal' opens with a sort of world/electro vibe and repeatedly builds anticipation for the killer chorus 'who-oa-oa / who-oa-oa / be my animal / hunt me down'. The song expands on the dark imagery of an animal hunting for it's prey. Its the kind of song that gets stuck in your head until you realize it is (an extremely catchy song) about killing animals...then you sing it anyway!
