Aaron Nigel Smith And Music For Little People Capture Kids' Imaginations
New York, NY (Top40 Charts / Music for Little People) Join award-winning children's music artist Aaron Nigel Smith as he takes young ones on a musical journey through the world of imagination with the release of his debut CD Let's Pretend on 25-year-old children's music label, Music for Little People. Initially released independently and with limited availability, Let's Pretend garnered 2005 NAPPA "Honors" and iParenting Media Awards. Aaron's sophomore recording, Everyone Loves To Dance, was recently awarded a 2010 Parent's Choice "Recommends" Award and a 2010 NAPPA "Honors" Award.

On Let's Pretend, Aaron encourages children to sing, move and learn with thoughtful, spacious melodies such as "Musical Alphabet" and "Butterflies," and rockin' rhythmic danceable jams ("Everybody's Jumping," "Let's Pretend," and "Moon Jump"). A mixture of great new tunes ("Animal Song," "Dolphin Dancing," "Trees," and "The Park") and old standards performed in unique and captivating ways ("Jack & Jill," Pat-A-Cake," "This Old Man," and "Itsy Bitsy Spider") make for a magical combination that brightens up the vibes of any home and bridges the generation gap with great wholesome music.

"I am excited to see this project released commercially," explains Aaron Nigel Smith. "It was great working with Leib (Ostrow) and his team to add some hip new vocal and instrumental parts, as well as six new songs!"

Leib Ostrow, Grammy nominated producer and the founder and president of Music for Little People says, "From the time I first met Aaron a few years ago, I have been totally impressed by his passion and ability to engage children in song and movement. He is truly a dynamic children's performer and his new recording expresses this whole-heartedly."

Aaron Nigel Smith has been a featured musical guest on the Emmy Award winning PBS Kids television series Between the Lions and works with the NEA Read Across America program to promote literacy through music.

He has been a musician since age 11 when he began performing professionally with the American Boy choir in venues such as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Kennedy Center, and the Essex Cathedral in London. In addition to being an accomplished vocalist, he plays percussion and guitar, is a prolific songwriter, and is an inspiring teacher to children of all ages.

Aaron actively promotes the positive effects of music and movement as an integral part of early education through his recordings as well as his enrichment program, FUNdamentals of Music and Movement. Launched in 2002 in Los Angeles, FUNdamentals is now the program of choice for over 100 schools nationwide. The up-tempo, hook-filled tunes created for his curriculum get kids literally jumping off the floor while exploring key developmental concepts.

Performing regularly around the country, Aaron's entertaining stage show has been featured as part of the Ziggy Marley Family Time Tour, Between the Lions Live, NEA Read Across America Tour, NBC/Universal, Sony, Warner Brothers, Paramount, Fox Studios Family Concerts, and the Sierra Nevada World Music, Abbott Kinney and Winnipeg Folk Festivals. Recently, Aaron collaborated with Ziggy Marley and his Palisades Children's Choir, on the new hit Tuff Gong release of Bob Marley songs for kids, B is for Bob. He works with the National Education Association on their Read Across America tours and is a guest speaker for the Department of Education.

Aaron Nigel Smith will be appearing at the 2011 Toy Fair in New York City on Tuesday, February 15th at the NewSound Kids booth #1036 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM.
