Wiz Khalifa announces details of his upcoming tour, dubbed "The Green Carpet Tour." Coming off his massively successful "Waken Baken Tour," the Pittsburgh native joins the 8th installment of the Campus Consciousness Tour, produced by Pretty Polly Productions in conjunction with the non-profit organization Reverb. The 17-city tour kicks off on April 1st in Raleigh, NC and concludes at the Bryce Jordan Center at Penn
State University on April 26th. Khalifa brings a new meaning to the word "green" on this tour, which promotes eco-friendliness and environmental sustainability, and has committed to powering his tour bus with biodiesel fuel as well as adopting both biodegradable and recyclable products backstage.
Adding to all this excitement, the rapper plans to celebrate the release of his hugely anticipated major label debut, "ROLLING PAPERS," with a sure-to-be-showstopping performance at New York's Roseland Ballroom. All of this comes after "Black and Yellow," the rapper's first effort since signing with Atlantic, has topped both Billboard's "Hot 100" and "Rap Songs" charts, as well as the overall iTunes singles chart. In addition, Khalifa has been tapped to perform at the 2011 mtvU Woodie Awards, where he is also nominated for "Woodie Of The Year," which sees the rapper up against the likes of Arcade Fire, The Black Keys, LCD Soundsystem, and labelmates B.o.B and Hayley Williams of Paramore for their collaboration on "Airplanes."
