Gobbler Unveils First Cloud-based Secure Backup And Collaboration Service Designed Specifically For The Professional Audio Community
San Francisco, CA (Top40 Charts/ Gobbler Official Website) Gobbler will change the way the professional audio community works with the first all-in-one software service to easily organize, backup, and share pro audio projects. Founded by brother-sister team Chris and Jamie Kantrowitz, the revolutionary cloud-based management system designed for the pro audio projects debuted today at LAUNCH in San Francisco.

Cloud computing has revolutionized how creators digitally store, share and organize their work, but not all files are created equal. "Audio projects are large and incredibly complex. A single project may consist of thousands of files and hundreds of iterations can be made during the creation process," said Chris Kantrowitz, CEO and creator of Gobbler. "Until now, the pro audio community has had to string together a series of generic tools to manage workflow, collaborate and store files. After witnessing the frustrating technical limitations this caused, we created Gobbler as the first all-in-one workflow service with cloud-based backup and collaboration built specifically for the pro audio community." Continued Kantrowitz, "We plan to start with pro audio and expand to other specialized fields that face the same kinds of problems."

The challenges faced by the pro audio community reflect a universal trend. "The data universe is becoming clogged with large files that are often replicated multiple times. File size growth is outpacing bandwidth growth," explained Gobbler investor, Sky Dayton. "Gobbler is a great solution to a problem faced by a specific market and has the potential to address other verticals in the future."

Solving Common File Management and Collaboration Issues

Professionals who build, manage and store large audio files face three common problems: lost work (due to damaged hardware, theft, or human error), lengthy transfer times caused by production of large files, and the complexity of cataloging and collaborating with dispersed, unstructured data. Built with audio professionals in mind, Gobbler offers the first comprehensive and easy solution for cataloging, vaulting, and sharing professional quality audio.

Gobbler features:

  • Intelligent and secure cloud backup designed for audio files. The Gobbler system secures in-production and finished projects. Gobbler's "set it and forget it" backup will monitor and catalog files on all drives, internal and external, and reduce administrative demands on users. Gobbler also tracks projects as they progress, taking snapshots along the way that allow users to revert previous versions.
  • Rapid file transfer with no size limitations. Gobbler's cloud-based collaboration system delivers sharing speeds that are up to 22.5x faster than current methodologies with no limits on file size. Gobbler's rapid file transfer system is built for handling GB's of data and only sends changes back and forth while maintaining the history and integrity of every file. Users simply enter an email address, select a file, and send.
  • Content Management System (CMS) tracks the location of all data in one place. The Gobbler CMS builds a catalog that tracks a user's audio stored on any drive, plugged-in or offline, so users with multiple drives of data never lose track of their work. The system incorporates geo and meta-tagging, and allows users to organize projects in a variety of ways, making it easier then ever to manage large data sets.

Now in Free Beta

Gobbler is available today in free Beta for Mac users, and can be downloaded at www.gobbler.com. The subscription-based service, with pricing expected to start as low as ten dollars a month, will launch out of beta this year with additional features. A PC version is also in development.
