Tascott, NSW (Top40 Charts/ Broadway Mile Official Website) After a busy start to the year, upcoming Newcastle-based pop-rockers Broadway Mile are set to keep their momentum going by recording their forthcoming debut EP with Australian music producer
Sonny Truelove (Angela's Dish, Before Their Eyes).
Having performed at the New Beginnings Festival in January, and been booked to support legendary Australian artists such as Jimmy Barnes, Noiseworks and You Am I, the three-piece band will hit Sonny's STL Studios this May to record their highly anticipated five-track offering.
Broadway Mile drummer Brendan Kelso said about this new challenge: "Basically the last 2 years of rehearsing and touring has come down to this. These songs will define where we are as a band and will serve as the building blocks for years to come. So much time has been spent on writing and fine-tuning our craft, and with the addition of Sonny's amazing talent we're really confident that something special is going to happen."
Broadway Mile's manager Sam Panetta (Kisschasy, Kylie Minogue, The Small Mercies), who also worked with Sonny on Angela's Dish's latest album "Walk The Sky," went on to say: "Mr. Sonny Truelove brought out the true Angela's Dish and helped the band truly "Walk The Sky." This is the new beginning of the band's future work and sound, and Truelove is a joy to work with!!"
Mirroring the Broadway team's enthusiasm, Sonny added: "I'm really excited to work with Broadway Mile! They have some amazing songs ready to be tracked, and with the combination of their songs, and my production, we're going to have a really solid record to show to the world. This is a band to follow."
It's been a lively period for the rising local producer as well. Having worked with a bunch of Australian and international artists, Sonny has also recently opened STL Studios on the Central Coast, which offers top-notch recording, engineering, production and mixing services, plus free accommodation for musicians. So with the brilliance of Broadway Mile and Sonny joining forces in the studio, the band's yet-to-be-titled EP will no doubt cause a stir when it's released later in the year.
