Silva Screen hopes that the campaign will go some way to meet the growing demand for the excellent and varied music found within the genre of soundtracks.

Founded in 1986, Silva Screen Records is an independent record label which is one of the world's leading film and television specialist soundtrack companies. The company boasts a catalogue of over 500 titles and over 5000 master recordings.

1969 - A GREAT YEAR FOR FILM MUSIC

In 1969 cinema topped a decade of change in the film business with an astonishing release slate of films that remain over 40 years later big screen classics.

The music was equal to the images on screen as well with stylish and innovative new scores from the likes of John Barry, Burt Bacharach and Ennio Morricone. Add to that music from veterans of the stature of Ron Goodwin and Jerry Fielding and you have a wonderful snapshot of the perfect film year.

John William's music for Star Wars introduced a new audience to the style of the legendary Hollywood symphonic scores.

Now one of the most familiar themes in cinema history, music from each film has been hand-picked for this collection. An added bonus is the track "Cantina Band" in which John Williams revisited his jazz roots for the memorable bar scene in Star Wars: "A New Hope."
