LOS ANGELES, CA (Top40 Charts/ 42West/ Atlantic Records) YouTube phenom and teen pop/rock sensation
Greyson Chance and Aussie pop star
Cody Simpson announced today that they will co-headline a North American tour. The tour kicks off on April 11th in Denver, CO and will conclude May 18th in Portland, OR. The announcement follows their packed free concert at the Grove in Los Angeles where the teens not only performed for thousands of screaming fans but signed autographs and held a meet and greet for over three hours. This is Greyson's second North American tour, having just completed a run with
Miranda Cosgrove. The physical version of his debut single, "Waiting Outside the Lines," recently held Billboard's top spot for four straight weeks. Cody recently released his first EP, 4U, and his current single "
All Day" recently topped the charts at
Radio Disney. This is the first time the teens have toured together.
"After our show at the Grove, I could not be more excited to tour with Cody. We each have our own unique style, so our fans will get to see two different types of pop music - we might even throw in a few surprises," said Greyson. "The upcoming tour with Greyson Chance is going to be a blast! I'm so hyped to travel around the US and visit different cities. It's gonna be an energetic show that the fans will love. I can't wait 4 U to see it, and can't wait to see everybody! GET READY!" added Cody. The teens announced the tour last night on Tinychat.com and crashed the servers with over 5k fans in attendance.
About Greyson Chance:
In April 2010, the sixth-grader posted a clip on YouTube of himself performing Lady Gaga's "Paparazzi" at a choir event in his hometown of Edmond, Oklahoma; it went on to become YouTube's No 3 most popular video of 2010. A phenomenon among social media sites, the video was viewed by over 30 million people and led to a performance two weeks later on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show."
Only a week after that, during his second appearance on her show, DeGeneres announced that she had signed the youngster to her newly formed label, eleveneleven. Greyson is currently working on his debut album with a top team of producers including acclaimed songwriter/producer and Geffen Records chairman Ron Fair (Christina Aguilera, Black Eyed Peas, Pussycat Dolls).
The album is coming soon on eleveneleven/Maverick/Geffen. Chance's debut single "Waiting Outside the Lines" is available for purchase in WalMart, Target, FYE and everywhere CDs are sold and was recently the No 1 physical single in the country for four straight weeks. The digital single is also available on iTunes and you can watch the video on Vevo.
