SINGAPORE (MTV Asia) - Teenage Korean pop diva BoA (18) surprised Asia once again! In the "2004 MTV Asia Awards (MAA)" held Saturday afternoon at Singapore Indoor Stadium, BoA, appearing on behalf of Korea and Japan, was named as "Favorite Artist Korea." She then went on to clinch the title of "Most Influential Artist in Asia."

Hosted by Michelle Branch and Vanness Wu (Taiwanese pop idol group, F4), the 2004 MAA was quite a show with some of the hottest names in the Asian pop scene and guest appearances by world-famous singer Stacie Orrico and TV Pop Star Gareth Gates.

Mariah Carey also made a surprise appearance to pick up a Lifetime Achievement award. In front of some 8,000 fans, pop industry officials, and reporters from all over Asia, BoA said that she wants to become a singer representing not only Korea and Japan, but all of Asia.
During the MAA, BoA proved herself a star in Korea and Japan, wholeheartedly singing in both Korean and Japanese her hit song, "Rock With You" with a Korean band, "Tracks," and a Japanese dance team.
