LOS ANGELES (Rap News Direct Website) - A rap performer is out on $1 million bail. Outside the House of Blues authorities investigated a stabbing of a security guard. The rapper Loon was arrested in connection with a stabbing at the House of Blues nightclub. Twenty-eight-year-old Chauncey "Loon" Hawkins was one of three men booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. The men are suspected of stabbing a security guard outside the popular Hollywood club early last Friday morning. The guard is expected to recover. Hawkins performs on the "Bad Boy" label and has recorded songs with such performers as Jamie Foxx and Lil Vicious. Investigators have not yet determined which of the three men was responsible for the stabbing, according to the web site, Rap News Direct.
The guard was hospitalized after he identified three men involved in the attack, the lieutenant told the TV station. The men are suspected of stabbing the security guard after he refused to let them into a party for Lil Jon & the East Side Boyz. The promoters for the House of Blues party, Disco Sushi, were celebrating the release of Lil Jon & the East Side Boyz's adult DVD during a week when numerous hip-hop stars were in Los Angeles for last week's Grammy Awards and yesterday's NBA All-Star Game. The House of Blues was reportedly closed last night, even though a big party had been scheduled there.
