Coming off the heels of Gravity's nomination for best song in this years HMMA awards, Steve Cooke teams up with Monte Pittman (Madonna/Adam Lambert/Prong), Steve Sidelnyk (Seal/Madonna), and Marcus Brown (Seal/Madonna/Tina Turner) in Los Angeles this past week to film the music video for the single . 'Gravity' is DEDICATED to NASA Commander MARK KELLY, his wife GABRIELLA GIFFORDS, and CAPTAIN JAMES COOK.
The commander for Endeavour's final flight, slated for April, is veteran NASA astronaut Mark Kelly. Kelly is the husband of Arizona congresswoman Gabrielle Gifford, who is in a Houston hospital recovering from a gunshot wound to the head she received during tragic January shooting spree in Tucson. The US Space Shuttle Endeavour is named after the famous British explorer and distant relative of Steve, Captain James Cook, who discovered New Zealand.
In 1779, while the American colonies were at war with Britain in their war for independence, Benjamin Franklin wrote to captains of American warships at sea, recommending that if they came into contact with Cook's vessel, to: '...treat the said Captain Cook and his people with all civility and kindness, . . .as common friends to mankind.'
The US is once again welcoming a 'Cook' with the same kindness and welcoming spirit as in times past. Thus heralds a new Era of Music, with Steve Cooke's new single and video: 'Gravity'
