The Last Godfather Starring International Icon Hyung Rae Shim To Be Released On April 1, 2011
LOS ANGELES, CA. (Top40 Charts/ Roadside Attractions) Roadside Attractions is pleased to announce the release of The Last Godfather, directed by and starring Korean cinema icon Hyung Rae Shim on April 1, 2011. The screwball comedy also stars Harvey Keitel, Jason Mewes and Michael Rispoli.

Set in 1951, Keitel stars as Don Carini, a powerful crime-boss who gathers his gang to announce a successor. Each wise-guy expects to be crowned the next Don but is shocked to find out that during his travels in Asia, Don Carini fell in love with an Asian woman and had a son. Now an adult, Young-gu (Shim), is to become the heir to Carini's throne. With everyone set against him and a hit out on his father, will Young-gu overcome these obstacles and rise to become the syndicate's next Godfather?

Heralded as the "Korean Charlie Chaplin," Hyung Rae Shim originated the character of Young-gu in 1989, and throughout the 1990's, his bumbling antics earned him the beloved moniker of "national fool" in a string of box-office hits such as Young-gu Rambo, Young-gu and Princess Zzu-Zzu and Young-gu and Count Dracula. Not content to rest on his comedy laurels, Shim ventured into directing one of Korea's most successful sci-fi thrillers, Dragon Wars (2007), which boasted spectacular visual effects and grossed more than $75 million, making it the highest grossing Korean-made film released theatrically in North America.

Written and Directed by Hyung Rae Shim, The Last Godfather is presented by CJ Entertainment and is a Younggu Art Production. The film stars Harvey Keitel, Hyung Rae Shim, Michael Rispoli, Jason Mewes, Jocelin Donahue and Jon Polito and is Co-Produced by Kwang Yeon Won and Lorenzo O'Brien and Co-Executive Produced by Katharine Kim and Joon H. Choi. The Last Godfather is Produced by Sung Ho Choi, Dooho Choi and Sang-Moo Lee.
