The Strokes New Album 'Angles' Debuts At No 1 On ARIA Album Chart!
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Strokes Official Website) Australian fans of The Strokes have spoken - ANGLES, the album that they have waited 5 years for, has taken out No 1spot on debut on the National ARIA Album Chart this week. The band's three prior releases all achieved impressive Australian top 10 debuts, with Is This It? entering and peaking at No.5 in 2001, sophomore release Room On Fire entering at No.6 in 2003 and 2006's First Impressions On Earth coming in at No.4.

In 2010, the band returned to the road, playing and headlining the sold out Splendour in the Grass Festival in Australia, as well as major festivals in the United States and UK, including the Isle of Wight Festival, Lollapalooza, Hurricane Festival, Rockness, Outside Lands, and Austin City Limits. Time Out Chicago hailed the Lollapalooza performance as "the best set I've seen since covering Lollapalooza. Better than Radiohead in 2008. Better than... who headlined last year? ...The crowd...was euphoric."

With a sold out show at Madison Square Garden coming up this Friday in New York, and a spot at Cochella on April 17th, The Strokes fans can continue to see them live at the following festivals over the next couple of months - Sweetlife Festival on May 1, New Orleans Jazz Festival on May 7th, Bonnaroo in June, Oxygen Festival in Ireland on July 10th, the Benic***im Festival in Spain in July, the Super Bock, Super Rock Festival in Lisbon on July 16th, before heading to Japan's Supersonic in August 13th and 14th and finishing off at Reading & Leeds in the UK on August 27th & 28th

Australian and New Zealand fans can still purchase an exclusive merchandise package for the new Strokes album with Mammoth Merchandise. Consumers can order a Limited Edition pack featuring; The Strokes T-Shirt, A Tote Bag, a Deck of playing cards (branded with The Strokes imagery on one side and logo on the other) and the brand new album for $59.95 + postage. The deck of playing cards is only available as part of this pack, and the T-Shirts, tote bag and albums are all available for individual sale.
