NEW YORK (Rush Official Website/Atlantic announcement) - Anthem/Atlantic recording group Rush has revealed details of their eagerly anticipated 30th Anniversary Tour. The legendary trio - Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, and Neil Peart - will begin the celebration with a three-month series of shows across across North America. In September, the band will head to Europe, where they have not performed live in more than a decade.
"An Evening with Rush: 30th Anniversary Tour" will open on May 26th at the AmSouth Amphitheatre in Antioch, Tennessee (Nashville). The tour will then travel North America through an August 22nd homecoming concert at Toronto's Molson Amphitheatre. Following the conclusion of the North American trek, Rush will journey to the United Kingdom for a series of shows, beginning with a September 8th date at London's Wembley Arena. Up-to-the-minute on-sale information and further tour dates will be available at Rush's official web site, https://www.rush.com
Since releasing their self-titled debut album in 1974, Rush has been universally regarded as one of the most inventive and exciting groups in rock, famed for their virtuoso musicianship, epic soundscapes, and dramatic lyricism. Each of the band's 24 albums - including such acclaimed works as 1976's "2112," 1981's "Moving Pictures," 1996's "Test For Echo," and 2002's "Vapor trails" - have been certified gold-or-better by the RIAA. To date, Rush has achieved worldwide sales exceeding 35 million units.
Rush's most recent Anthem/Atlantic release is the RIAA gold "Rush In Rio," a three-disc live CD capturing Lee, Lifeson, and Peart performing in concert at the world famous Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on the final night of 2002's "Vapor Trails" tour. In addition, a two-disc "RUSH IN RIO" DVD was released recently. The latter set - Rush's first-ever live DVD collection - has proven a remarkable success, receiving triple-platinum certification by the RIAA.
