LONDON, UK (Top40 Charts/ Playground) London alternative-electronic music promoters The Playground bring together an Easter Weekend special with top electro artists YUKSEK, BRODINSKI- The Krays, UFFIE, JAMES YUILL, HUORATRON on Saturday 23rd April @ KOKO.
The Playground announce a new London event with exclusive performances from French-Electro godfathers YUKSEK and BRODINSKI along with recent nominee at the French Victoires De La Musique Awards for Best Electro Album- UFFIE, as well as JAMES YUILL and a debut UK performance from Icelandic HUORATRON and French group SEXY SUSHI.
Headlining the event is duo YUKSEK and BRODINSKI under the moniker THE KRAYS. Yuksek, originally with Birdy Nam Nam's label and wunderkind of the blogs, has crafted some of the dirtiest, most inspired remixes of hits by Chromeo, Gorillaz, The Prodigy...
His fiery live sets, where Yuksek's svelte, supple physique swoops between his vintage keyboards and FX board, have set alight concert venues, clubs and festivals. As YUKSEK is synonymous as a standard-bearer of post Soulwax/Justice disco-rock club culture so has BRODINSKI exploded on the scene as one of the most exciting dj-producers in recent years. Being supported by everyone from Soulwax, Tiga, Chloe, Erol Alkan, A Trak, Busy P, Switch and Laurent Garnier, he encompasses everything from noisy techno, bass heavy sounds through to more melodic minimal house with impeccable programming.
Main support comes from none other than the underground and electronic artist, fashion designer and socialite UFFIE, signed to critically acclaimed French dance record label, Ed Banger Records. Her album Sex Dreams and Denim Jeans peaked at number 7 on both the French Digital Album Chart and the Belgian Heatseekers Albums, number 17 on the Dance/Electronic Albums Chart, number 32 on the Billboard Top Heatseekers Albums in the United States, number 31 on the UK Independent Albums Chart in the UK along with charting in over 8 other different countries and nominated in the French Victoires de la Musique for Best Electronic Album.
With a debut UK appearance from HUORATRON and his filthy gameboy techno along with JAMES YUILL who is receiving no shortage of hype right now, other supports include noneother than SEXY SUSHI, the French-Electro/Punk band likened to Crystal Castles and Kap Bambino along with TIGER LOVE, IS TROPICAL, WAYLAYERS, YOU LOVE HER COZ SHE'S DEAD, ANXST, PUNX SOUNDCHECK, FAKE ROLEX and PETE CARVELL.
