NEW YORK (MJ Fans Website) - Michael Jackson's whitening skin may have been sparked by his father's insistence that his singing sons' complexions were lightened in photos as far back as 1984.

The King of Pop has always maintained his skin tone is the result of a medical complaint, but a New Jersey businessman who now owns thousands of Jackson family memorabilia by default thinks he has found a letter which proves the pop superstar and his brothers always wanted to appear whiter.

Pensioner Henry Vaccaro became the unlikely owner of the Jackson family's treasure trove of letters, drawings, clothes and memorabilia when he bought it at a storage center auction. The center was forced to sell the haul when the Jacksons failed to pay a $60,000 bill to keep it there.
And now Vaccaro, who has sold the collection to an unnamed European fan, has every reason to believe that the Jackson family's alleged preference for whiter skin tones started way back in 1984.
