NEW YORK (Latin news magazine) - Gloria Estefan, Alejandro Fernandez, Paulina Rubio, Pilar Montenegro, La Ley, and Banda El Recodo make up the first group of Latin artists who will perform at the 2004 Billboard Latin Music Awards, it was announced today by Billboard. The prestigious and star-studded awards show, which will take place at the Miami Arena in Florida, will be produced and broadcast live on Telemundo at 7pm ET/PT on Thursday, April 29. Tickets to the event are now available through Ticketmaster and the Miami Arena Box Office. World renowned artist Gloria Estefan; Mexican singer and finalist (regional Mexican album of the year, Male Solo Artist for "Ni�a Amada Mia") Alejandro Fernandez, who stars in the upcoming film "Zapata," directed by Alfonso Arau - crossover superstar Paulina Rubio, whose new album "Pau-Latina" debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Latin sales chart and who is currently topping Billboard Latin airplay charts - last year's recipient of three Billboard Latin Music Awards Pilar Montenegro - Chilean Latin Rock group La Ley (finalists Latin Rock/Alternative Album of the Year for "Libertad"), and the iconic Regional Mexican group, Banda El Recodo will be performing live. Additional performers will be announced soon. The show will be hosted by soap opera star Mauricio Islas and Spanish television personality Candela Ferro.
