New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ MekanIzm Records) The song was written for those of us going through trials right now. The story has a strong theme, or to take it a step further, a purpose behind it, which is to remind us that we can have hope even in the darkest times of our lives and remember we're not alone. This isn't your average rap song about praise, where there's just some quotations from the bible, or a message that preaches to get saved or spend an eternity in hell. It's an account based on real life experiences where Cane takes the angle of, what if the people that were going through some of the toughest trials of their lives, knew they weren't alone and they didn't have to rely on their own strength to get through it. There's a simple principle to derive from the song, which is faith can bring us through if we truly believe in Jesus' promise that we are not alone in our trials. As C.S. Lewis said - *We read to know that we are not alone*, Cane Murphy wants us to hear the music to know that we are not alone. *I've been going through so much in the past two years it's hard for me to believe sometimes* says Cane, talking about his experience while in the hospital where he almost bottomed out and then almost had a heart attack while in rehab from getting off pain medications cold turkey when his G.I track started to fail from taking so many pain medications for the past few years after spine surgery. *I almost lost all hope that things were going to get better, but i'm still here. I know it's not my own strength that carries me through, cause I would of given up a long time ago. *Hope in Darkness* was written and performed by Cane Murphy and produced by Sinima.
