Holcombe Waller Sets Out On Expansive, USA Tour With Daniel Martin Moore, Jenny O, Haley Bonar And Barcelona
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Girlie Action Media & Marketing) Holcombe Waller is pleased to announce new west coast tour dates with Jenny O. and Barcelona, as well as new northeast/midwest tour dates as a triple co-headline with Haley Bonar and Daniel Martin Moore. Adding to his previously announced tour dates with Chris Pureka, Laura Gibson and several performing arts centers, Holcombe will be criss-crossing the country all Spring and Summer. Full tour dates below.

"Waller's new album, Into the Dark Unknown, is a come-to-Jesus moment come to life,- a clear-eyed look at confusion that's as arresting as it is intimate. The album leaves Waller's voice front and center, and the result is strong, theatrical and wonderfully nuanced, all at the same time." - NPR

"...equal parts catchy and haunting." - Paste Magazine

"He's got the crazy-beautiful, four-octave voice of an androgynous seraph, but he's really a coffee-house troubadour from San Francisco and a classically trained pianist, a jazz saxophonist, and a visual artist."
- Kate Sullivan, SPIN Magazine

West coast details: Dubbed "The Making Friends Tour," Holcombe's west coast dates will be joined by Seattle's Barcelona and Los Angeles' Jenny O., who recently shared Holcombe's critically acclaimed SXSW "bed-in" session (more information below). This handful of intimate underplays will include invite-only hotel room "bed-in" sets in select cities the afternoon of the shows, with a few invitations to be awarded to fans via Facebook and Twitter.

Northeast/midwest details: Christened the "Waiting for Lightening to Strike Tour," Holcombe joins a rotating triple co-headline with his good friend Haley Bonar of Minneapolis, who just released her eagerly anticipated sophomore album Golder, and Sub Pop recording artist Daniel Martin Moore. The three plan an invite-only hotel "bed-in" set for New York City. Watch Holcombe's Facebook and Twitter as the date approaches for more details.

Holcombe's touring rides a growing wave of fans for his music. The Portland via San Francisco singer, songwriter, composer and video artist is prepping the re-release of Into the Dark Unknown on June 21. Released in limited quantities earlier this year, the album has been praised by the likes of NPR, Paste Magazine, and OUT as a beautiful piece of intimate chamber folk.

The re-release follows Holcombe's successful run at this year's SXSW, where he was praised by The New York Times and NPR as one of the festival's best. A welcome respite from the intensity of SXSW, Holcombe played two stripped-down "bed-in"sets in a room at the historic Driskill Hotel in Austin. Ben Sisario called the set, "the most unusual performance space at South by Southwest this year, and perhaps one of the most effective," and Ann Powers chose the performance as one of her top three performances in Austin this year. Leading into the festival, Holcombe premiered his latest video for "Hardliners"at Paste Magazine. The beautiful, "one-shot" style music video was choreographed by legendary downtown artist Miguel Guitierrez and follows Holcombe along a winding dream-like path from his bedroom to the stage and back.

For Holcombe Waller, Into the Dark Unknown was a labor of love that began with his theater piece, "Into the Dark Unknown: The Hope Chest." Featuring many of the songs that ended up on Into The Dark Unknown, Holcombe staged the performance at theaters across the U.S. and Europe, including The Public Theater in New York.
