KCRW & Spinner Debut Video & MP3 Treats From Cirkus!
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Girlie Action Media & Marketing) Ready for some sideways, mind-bending pop? cirKus is bringing you both a stark, yet soulful video for the title-track "Medicine" on AOL Spinner and a chaotic no-wave dance punk tune "Beats Tripple 1" on KCRW this week.

The union of legendary producer Cameron McVey, Grammy-winning vocalist Neneh Cherry, chanteuse (and daughter of McVey & Cherry) Lolita Moon, with the beatsmith Karmil show off their killer chemistry on both tracks.

"Medicine" was filmed by director Ted Says in an abandoned library in northern France. The "talking heads" video features three rows colored in vintage medicine bottle red, blue, and green, split into twelve cells with a band member in each, Brady Bunch- style if you will, interchanging singing duties throughout the song. Punchy guitar amidst a fuzzy noise trip-hop soundscape and steady backbeat highlight the band's beautiful voices as they remedy us with:

"when the sun medicine comes shining through / medicine for me & you"

"It's surprising at every turn, incontrovertibly weird, and at times, ingenious - making cirKus the coolest family band since the BeeGees." - MTV

"The whimsical world of electronic music is changing and evolving each day and Massive Attack producer Cameron McVey continues to push the envelope by blending elements of trip-hop with New Wave sensibility." - AOL Spinner

"Beats Tripple 1" combines a relentless P.I.L. - like groove to complement the distinct vocal stylings of the McVey-Cherry bloodline. Karmil's decidedly annihilating rhythms are fore-front again, this time twisting vocals around a blistering, psychedelic trip, staggered with electronic punk buzz and a knowing nod to '70's punk.

With every review coming out for cirKus' sophomore effort Medicine, praise is given where praise is due. Critics are raving about the impressive mix of post-punk, dub, trip-hop and more that McVey is known for (as Booga Bear for his production work with Massive Attack, Tricky, and Portishead), along with the amazing production and songwriting from Karmil, and luscious vocal threads from Lolita Moon and Neneh.
