Sergio Mendes' track "
Orpheus". Later that month, an unfortunate car accident left Rizzo with injuries he's still recovering from. "I realize more than ever that your life can change in a second. Always make life, family and friends first priority," reflects Rizzo.
Undoubtedly, the anticipation of his new single, in wide release since April 12, has given Rizzo the motivation to get his groove back at his home away from home - 5,000 sq. ft. studio space in New Jersey aka Global Groove Entertainment, with business partner and fellow producer Steve "Mr. Mig" Migliore.
The INgrooves label (Universal Music Group) is responsible for the recent release of Global Groove's contagious single "Do It Together," available now via all major digital outlets. "Mr. Mig & I are extremely excited to begin our endeavor through INgrooves Distribution with the launch of our first single from our forthcoming EP 'Do It Together,'" says Rizzo about the much anticipated in-house project he and Mr. Mig have been collaborating on.
Mike Rizzo DJ's and performs under the alias Funk Generation, the name that earned him his first Grammy nomination earlier this year, and is currently working on his own label for Funk Generation Music, which he shares will be a compilation of tracks with "more electro-progressive vocals."
On the increasingly hot roster of today's modern talent, Rizzo can be found behind the music, lending his credibility most recently to videos/remixes including Britney Spears' "Hold It Against Me," Chris Brown's "Beautiful People," Jennifer Lopez featuring Pit Bull on the latin version of "On The Floor" and Katy Perry's "Last Friday Night."
