Universal Music Latin Entertainment Receives 25 Awards At Billboard Latin Music Awards 2011
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Universal Music Latin Entertainment) The celebration kicked off with the kind of 'EUPHORIA' that only Enrique Iglesias can create. Earning multiple coveted awards 'Latin Artist of the Year', 'Hot Latin Song of the Year' for his song "Cuando Me Enamoro", 'Hot Latin Songs Artist of the Year, Male', 'Latin Album of the Year', 'Top Latin Albums Artist of the Year,', 'Latin Pop Airplay Song of the Year' for "Cuando Me Enamoro", 'Latin Pop Albums of the Year' and 'Latin Pop Albums Artist of the Year, Solo'.

The idol performed his international hits "No Me Digas Que No" and "Tonight" (I'm Lovin' you) at the Billboard Latin Music Awards, and was surprised by the leaders of the Latin urban genre, Wisin y Yandel, who joined him on stage.

Following this extraordinary presentation was a memorable performance by singer Cristian Castro, who captivated the audience members' hearts with his rendition of "Lo Pasado, Pasado", a duet with the "prince of the song" Jose Jose. Accompanied by his band and a string quartet, Cristian reaffirmed why he is the most important ballad singer of his generation and why his album "Viva El Principe" (Long Live the Prince) - also available on DVD starting this week - has catapulted to the top of the sales charts in Mexico, United States, and Puerto Rico.

In this great celebration, the mother of all bands could not be absent: "Banda El Recodo de Don Cruz Lizarraga" earned two awards 'Regional Mexican Song of the Year for their song "Dime Que Me Quieres" & 'Regional Mexican Airplay Artist of the Year, Duo or Group' whose performance reaffirmed to audiences why it was one of the songs that maintained its top tier status in Billboard magazine charts for weeks.

The singer, musician and songwriter Juanes - who made a quick stop from his world tour P.A.R.C.E.T.O.U.R., thanked his "parceros" and dedicated the song "Regalito" (gift) to them with a first-class visual display as his stage presentation, brought directly from the tour.

The Venezuelan duo Chino & Nacho, made everyone dance and jump up with the super hit "Nina Bonita" (pretty girl), a classic that is sure to leave a mark on the Latin music scene for years to come.

The Regional Mexican touch of the night was provided by Roberto Tapia with his song "Me Duele" (It hurts me) while successful songwriter Fidel Rueda sang "Me Encantaria" (I'd love to).

Gloria Trevi - with more than 20 million albums sold worldwide - was one of the highlights of the night, bringing her latest #1 hit in Mexico and 12 Latin America countries "Me Rio De Ti". Trevi hit the stage mounted on a motorcycle and with an endless array of dancers, who put together the party at the Bank United Center in Miami. Currently, Gloria is preparing to release her next single, "Vestida de Azucar" (Dessed in Sugar), a haunting ballad composed by her and featuring singer/composer Leonel Garcia.

Don Omar earned the coveted 'Latin Rhythm Airplay Song of the Year for "Danza Kuduro" who in recent months has earned the title of The King of artists on the Internet for his more than 125 million views of the mega hit "Danza Kuduro" and "Taboo", which within days had reached more than 4.5 million views - brought down the house with a medley of these two songs. With Danza kuduro rhythm and the lambada, Don Omar was overflowing in energy along with singer Lucenzo, a contagious energy that quickly spread to the audience with through its rhythms.

The romance of the pop genre also had its moment thanks to Puerto Rican star Luis Fonsi, who chose the Billboard stage to premiere his new single "Gritar" (Scream) on TV. This is the first single from his upcoming album, to be released on June 28. The single is already in top rotation of all Latin American countries, promising to be another great success for Fonsi.

Regional Mexican artists shined tonight earning multiple awards: Pedro Fernandez 'Regional Mexican Albums, Album of the Year for "Amarte A La Antigua", Larry Hernandez earned a 'Regional Mexican Airplay, Artist of the Year, Solo' & 'Regional Mexican Albums, Artist of the Year, Solo', La Arrolladora Banda El Limon earned 'Hot Latin Songs Artist of the Year, Duo or Group' and El Trono de Mexico obtained an award in the category of 'Regional Mexican album, Artist of the Year, Duo or Group.

Lastly, urban music kings Wisin & Yandel earned 'Latin Rhythm Airplay, Artist of the Year, Duo or Group and Latin Rhythm Albums Artist of the Year, Duo or Group'.

Add to the night, the renowned Mexican singer songwriter Emanuel earned the prestigious Life Time Achievement award for his outstanding career.

Also participating were renowned international pianist Arthur Hanlon and Ana Isabel and Banda Los Recordings, all responsible for hosting the night as presenters.

It was a night full of surprises, but mostly full of a light that illuminated the Billboard Awards 2011 through the gathering of countless stars on one stage.
