New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ DLB Music) Down the long road to Incheon International Airport and across the bridge that rises over the ocean, the new city of Midan is beginning to take shape.
A skeleton of paved roads and open parkland awaits the construction of the many buildings which will bring Midan to life. Developers recognise it would be a shame to wait for life to come to Midan, so they're bringing life there in June.
All day on June 4 and going into the earliest of hours of June 5, RocKorea will keep Midan lively and up late. Some of the biggest names on the Seoul indie music scene and a number of tribute rock acts will play all afternoon and into the night. Surrounded by trees, the concert area has a large auditorium that backs onto the sea. It is from this setting that organisers expect to create a vibe similar to other large outdoor concert festivals around the world.
Starting from noon and running until 6 a.m. - not to mention breakfast at 8 a.m. - expect one of the best Saturday nights of the summer. Many of the leading acts playing in Seoul will be performing. Craftworks and Ka- Brew will provide quality beers, and vendors from top restaurants will be out with a variety of choices.
There will also be an art tent. Here, international and local artists will be exhibiting and selling their work. For accomodation, there will be a place to pitch tents.
The music acts already confirmed are a who's who of Seoul's music scene. Minha, Mirrorhouse, Rock Tigers, Lance Reegan- Diehl Band, Pinnacle & The Antidote, have all been confirmed to take the stage so far.
Aside from mucsic, the Frills and Thrills Burlesque Show will keep everyone entertained. Between performances, there will be prize give-aways and acoustic performances.
When it gets dark, nostalgia will take control of your inhibitions with six classic rock tribute bands that will rekindle dreams of air guitar superstardom. Acts will pay tribute to Guns n' Roses, Lynyrd Skynyrd, AC /DC, Led Zeppelin, the Rolling Stones, and the Tragically Hip, among others.
