Skee-lo Returns To Grant Wishes For More Feel Good Music
Los Angeles, CA (Top40 Charts/ GLAMMEDIA PUBLIC RELATIONS) Platinum-selling artist Skee-Lo returns to hip-hop with his aptly-titled debut single, "Burnin' Up" (Skee-Lo Musik), a joyful, reggae-infused track that is guaranteed to keep you on your feet. Simply put: the single is hot. Produced by Vision, the track features an appearance by Akapello, and completely captures Skee-Lo's lyrical mastery and the feel of 90s hip-hop. Ever the trend setter, Skee-Lo made the track available, on his birthday, as a free download on his site (https://www.freshideasmusic.com) - a gift to his fans.

"This video brought back a lot of great memories," Skee-Lo muses. "It has all of those special moments ...the feel good visuals that only Marty can capture. I look forward to its release and to touring in support of the new album and Fresh Ideas Musik."

"Burnin'Up" reunited Skee-Lo with video guru Marty Thomas (Xzibit, Chris Rock, Madonna, Ice Cube, Snoop), who directed Skee-Lo's sensational debut video "I Wish." Thomas, who is currently filming his new feature Killer Holiday, was only too thrilled to team with Skee-Lo and direct the new video. "Working with Skee-Lo again, man this is groovy stuff," Marty explains. In a synergistic move, Thomas tapped the stars of Killer Holiday to appear in the "Burnin'Up" video, including Alex Mandel. Mandel, who is a Skee-Lo fan, took it one step further and allowed the video to be shot at his home in Malibu. The ensuing party, which turned into a video shoot, is sure to become one of the summer's favorites.

Breaking onto the scene in the 90s with his debut hit "I Wish," Chicago-born Skee-Lo began performing at the age of nine, determined to emulate the styling of his musical influences like James Brown, DeBarge, and Michael Jackson. A move to Los Angeles in the mid 80s introduced Skee-Lo to hip hop artists like Rakim, Whodini and Kurtis Blow, and the seed was planted. He nurtured his talent and began producing his own music. While still a senior in high school he produced "I Wish," his first record. The single, which went platinum, was a critical success, and gained him 2 Grammy nominations the single and the album. In 1996 Skee-Lo became a VJ for both MTV's "The Beach House" and "The Grind."
