New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ HelpingHaven Official Website) HelpingHaven.com, a digital record label and online philanthropy platform, has released its debut album, "HelpingHaven.com Presents: The Social
Music Project Volume 1". HelpingHaven.com creates socially conscious music to help raise awareness and funds for causes such as environmental issues, domestic violence / abuse, homelessness / poverty, child education, and disaster relief.
"HelpingHaven.com Presents: The Social Music Project Volume 1", consists of eleven tracks and includes music, poetry / spoken word, statistics on various issues, and an interview snippet with a homeless woman from Los Angeles, CA. The rhythmic vibe of the album combines traditional storytelling with contemporary sounds and contains influences from R&B / Soul, Hip-Hop, Funk, Country, and Folk music. The album features up-and-coming singer and songwriter, Randall "Royale" Raeford, who has toured with music superstars such as The Roots, Musiq Soulchild, Novel, and Cody Chesnutt.
"Through music, we hope to create persistent awareness for global issues that are consistently overlooked by the mass media," said Michael D. Raeford, Jr., founder & Chairman of HelpingHaven.com. The album focuses on positive messages and empowering listeners, which is contrary to contemporary music laden with sexual references, materialism, violence, and negative stereotypes. "We believe music is the universal language, a powerful messaging tool that should be used to address global issues and inspire people to action," said HelpingHaven.com's co-founder & CEO, Sherease A. Raeford.
To help raise funds for the causes represented in the music, a portion of all music proceeds will go directly to organizations selected by HelpingHaven.com and the listener community.
