New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Invisible Orange) Metal radio show Powerchord is celebrating 25 years on the airwaves on Vancouver's CITR 101.9FM.
Founded by Metal Ron and Gerald Rattlehead in 1985 and now continued by DJs Geoff "The Metal Pimp", Marcia "The Mistress of Metal", and Andy, Powerchord is Vancouver's longest running metal show. Over the years, the show has become a staple of Vancouver's metal community by continuously supporting and informing the masses about both independent and mainstream metal in Vancity's metal scene.
"Powerchord would not have been able to continue without all the loyal metal fans and array of metal talent, which reigns in BC. The fact that Powerchord has been able to continue running for 25 years is a huge feat in the history of Canadian metal proving that no matter how many challenges we face, the metal scene in Vancouver is strong and will continue to bang on for a long time to come." commented Powerchord DJ Marcia, The Mistress of Metal.
In celebration of this feat, Powerchord is putting on an epic headbanging party with headliners Woods of Ypres along with locals Titans Eve, Scissortooth, Scythia, Magnus Rising and Auroch at Vancouver's famed Rickshaw Theatre (254 East Hastings).

All proceeds will go towards Music BC Charitable Foundation's Adopt an Instrument Program.This program is able to either purchase, finance or refurbish instruments, which can then be placed in schools throughout the province of British Columbia where there is a need.
SHORE 104.3 FM Adopt an Instrument program was formed in response to the budget cuts which have been hitting British Columbia schools.
Powerchord will be giving tickets away every Saturday during the show
