Rose And The Thorns To Perform Do Something Awards Kickoff Celebration On May 23, 2011
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Rose & the Thorns Official Website) Rose & the Thorns are truly keeping it real. Hailing from New York City with the spirit of the 60s/70s, their honest and soulful rock music is extraordinarily refreshing and raw. Rose and the Thorns reveal their deepest desires and emotions with an intensity that continues to connect with their audience.

Sponsored by Gibson USA, they have just released a long awaited 3 song EP that is already making a huge impact. They are produced by Michael Mangini, two time Grammy award winning producer. The band members are Raechel(Rose) Rosen, Sampson Hellerman, Josh Schackett, Tory Geismar and Derek Orshan. They were previously solely focused on their enormously successful charity rock band, Creation Band, whose first album included an special appearance by legendary saxophonist Clarence Clemons, with a fan base including songwriter/producer Nile Rodgers, Steven Van Zandt and thousands more.

The band is influenced and inspired by the music of artists such as Janis Joplin, Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, Amy Winehouse, The Black Crowes, and The Black Keys. Rose and the Thorns is no stranger to the local club scene in NYC. BB Kings, Music Hall of Williamsburg, The Bitter End, Knitting Factory, Hard Rock NYC, Sullivan Hall, and even Carnegie Hall are just a few of the legendary venues where the band members have taken stage

Rose & The Thorns will be performing throughout NYC and other Northeast dates starting this week. This Thursday, May 19 they open at Rebel Club for the Click Five, followed on May 20 in Boston at Club 939, opening for the Ian Axel. These dates lead to the exciting special performance at the Kickoff for the Do Something Awards at BB Kings, where they open for the Plain White Tee's.
