The band members are Raechel(Rose) Rosen, Sampson Hellerman, Josh Schackett, Tory Geismar and Derek Orshan. They were previously solely focused on their enormously successful charity rock band, Creation Band, whose first album included an special appearance by legendary saxophonist Clarence Clemons, with a fan base including songwriter/producer Nile Rodgers, Steven Van Zandt and thousands more.
The band is influenced and inspired by the music of artists such as Janis Joplin, Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, Amy Winehouse, The Black Crowes, and The Black Keys. Rose and the Thorns is no stranger to the local club scene in NYC. Rose & The Thorns will be performing throughout NYC and other Northeast dates starting this week. This Thursday, May 19 they open at Rebel Club for the Click Five, followed on May 20 in Boston at Club 939, opening for the Ian Axel. These dates lead to the exciting special performance at the Kickoff for the Do Something Awards at BB Kings, where they open for the Plain White Tee's.
