Damato Joins Parachute And Hugo On June 2011 Tour
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Universal Motown Records) Universal Motown recording artist Damato is getting ready to join Parachute and Hugo on a June tour that will give this "surfing soul son of a preacher man" the opportunity to bring his show and message to hungry audiences across the country. "Performing live is a dream come true. It gives me the ability to recreate the emotion that went into recording the songs on Everybody VS U & Me. Live and on record is the only way I know how to best bring across my message of love and hope."

Damato got his touring feet wet a few months back opening for Hugo but focused the top of 2011 on finishing up his Universal Motown debut album, Everybody VS U & Me, due out this fall.

Built on his bare acoustic and rootsy foundation, a sound which had the press bandying about words like "catchy," "depth," and "formidable," Damato's debut album cranks a layer of energy that pops his sound to a whole other level. The result is a glittering montage of tunes swirled with driving rhythms, and intermingled with tales of his life's experiences of confusion and love and loss and, most importantly, hope. First single "Angels," which finds him wanting to catch and save a person he loves, is percolating at Hot AC while the video for the song directed by Marc Klasfeld recently wrapped shooting.

But before this tour kicks off, and before "Angels" impacts radio, and before we get a glimpse at that video, Damato will take a notable step towards his overarching mission of "trying to leave this world in somehow and someway a better place than when I came in."

Lucky Angelenos can catch Damato at The Majestic Halls on May 19 where he will perform at the Annual Gala Celebration for Room to Read, an organization that seeks to transform the lives of millions of children in developing countries by focusing on literacy and gender equality in education. The last event was supported by Will Ferrell and guests including Jack Black, Molly Shannon, Amy Brenneman, Michael Pena, and others.
