NEW YORK (J. Lo Fans Website) - Jennifer's Lopez's mom is raking in the cash now. Guadalupe Lopez, 58, won the progressive jackpot while playing dollar slots in Atlantic City on Saturday evening, April 3. The elder Lopez was playing the Wheel of Fortune machine at the Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa when she won the $2.4 million jackpot. Michael Facenda, spokesman for the casino, says at the time he was unaware of Mrs. Lopez's relationship to the superstar. Guadalupe Lopez intends to use part of her winnings to start a college fund for her two grandchildren, according to US Weekly. J.Lo will be pulling in her own millions in August when she stars opposite Richard Gere in "Shall We Dance?" She currently has a brief appearance in Kevin Smith's "Jersey Girl." Meanwhile, Jenny, who frowned on ex Ben Affleck's affinity for gambling, could probably pay for her entire family to go to college several times over.
At last count, the multi-hyphenate superstar was pulling down $10 million per movie and she's currently got three in the pipeline, including Shall We Dance? opposite Richard Gere slated for an August 6 release; Lasse Hallström's drama An Unfinished Life scheduled to hit theaters December 24; and finally the romantic comedy Monster-In-Law costarring Jane Fonda, which is expected to hit in 2005.
