Brooklyn, NY (Top40 Charts/ Logan official website) Remember when the music mattered more than anything? Before the "machines" and "packaged" artists. You could be a balding man with a crazy glittery outfit, and a piano (Elton John) or you could be a blind man with a wonderful voice (Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder) and you still had a chance to be successful in the music industry. Why? Because it was about the sound of the music, not the "package".
Despite being born with a physical disability (short right arm with only two fingers), Brooklyn based R & B singer, Logan, is striving to reach his dream of being "the Superstar of R & B". Logan is an amazing, soulful R & B singer who has won numerous musical showcases for major record labels. Logan recently won an award for being the 2010 Underground Artist of the Year. Although the major labels agree that Logan is a talented singer, they cannot figure out a way to package Logan.
There have been no big record labels and no wealthy financial backers supporting all of Logan's amazing projects thus far. Logan has built his career through the support of friends, family and professionals who wholeheartedly believe that Logan will be the Superstar of R & B, despite his physical disability, including Streetball legend Half Man, Half Amazing and DJ Uncle Ralph McDaniels who has kept Logan's "Blow Your Mind" video in rotation on his Video Music Box television program since Valentine's Day.
Logan, also known as Logan da Short Arm Wonder due to his physical disability, is using Kickstarter as a fundraising vehicle for his "Here We Go" album project, which falls in line with the do-it-yourself approach to operating his indie record label, MYFAM Productions of which Logan is a Vice President, and the DIY approach to promoting his music. Kickstarter is a website dedicated to helping people in various creative fields to raise money for their projects. Financial contributors show their support by donating anywhere from $1- $5000 and, depending on the amount, they will be awarded prizes from the project creator.

The money raised via Logan's Kickstarter campaign will be used to pay for studio time, mixing and mastering the tracks, as well as the other costs associated with putting out an album such as legal fees, art, design, making a music video for the debut single and printing physical CD's. Contributions to the "Here We Go" album project do not go without recognition. For each generous contribution made through Kickstarter, from $1 to $5,000, Logan will show his appreciation through an array of rewards, such as signed CD's, cameo appearances in the music video for the debut single, VIP invitations to the album release party or a live concert at your home or venue of choice.
About LOGAN
Born with a physical disability (short right arm with two fingers) Joshua Alcide also known as Logan has been signing since he can remember. Logan's singing career began in church as a soloist and he wrote his first secular song in the fifth grade for a talent show. His teachers and peers were impressed with his strong vocals and commanding stage presence. By the age of 18, Logan was singing at weddings and church events. It was not until his second year at Brooklyn College did Logan start to take his singing career seriously.
A demo was the next logical step. Logan's demo caught the attention of Lowkey, a producer looking for talent for his MYFAM Productions independent label. A year later the two dropped an album which was well received on the college circuit. The album charted #4 on the CMJ charts, was popular on the college circuit and played on mainstream radio stations across the country. Logan has performed at different venues for many industry professionals and has won showcases for Universal Music Group (twice) as well as other underground showcases. Logan recently won the 2010 Artist of the Year Award from the renowned Elegant Hoodness Musical Program.
Logan has big plans for 2011 and beyond, starting with his smash single called "Blow Your Mind" featuring a sample from the legendary Delfonics. A physical disability does not mean the end of a dream!
