The J.O.B. Releases New Album 'Back To The World'
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ JMD Records) 'Music can be an activity, or it can be a lifestyle'. Such are the words from the mouth of Americana alt-rock band The J.O.B's front man and songwriter, Jim O'Ferrell. Together with band members Jason Crawford (guitar, lyrics), Justin Poroszok (bass), and Steve Payne (drums), the Richmond, Virginia band concocts a potent mix of old-school classic rock 'n' roll with the grit of guitar riffs and wit of melodies and words.

Jim O'Ferrell, a former infantryman stationed in Iraq, knows a thing or two about action and destruction, and what got him through it all is his love for music. While there, he honed his guitar-playing, even performing at the US Embassy's outdoor pavilion during his first deployment in Baghdad. Music has been a part of him since he was a kid - he actually had his first gig in a bar at 15. After high school, he enlisted in the Army and wherever it sent him, he made sure to perform in bars and taverns there. For the album 'Back to the World', Jim wanted to create music about coming home and based from its output, his musicality has matured and has become more solid, gutsy, and well-sung. The way music comes to Jim is very organic, unforced and always flowing. 'Music isn't something you just listen to, it happens to you, it affects you', he adds.

With collective music influences such as Creedence Clearwater Revival, Gordon Lightfoot, Grand Funk Railroad, Johnny Cash, Dennis DiBlasio Quartet, Merzbow, Iannis Xenakis, and Brian Eno, The J.O.B.'s Jim O'Ferrell and Jason Crawford are at the center of generating heat in their original compositions for the band. The J.O.B's sound screams potential and as a band they're all about harnessing it.

The J.O.B. has received a modicum of success, charting two singles in the Top 40, but that doesn't mean they're about to rest on their laurels. 'When an artist seems to suddenly be successful, there is nothing sudden about it. It's the culmination of relentless commitment and a lot of work', Jim explains. Dubbed a band that plays Americana, The J.O.B. are honored to be in the roster of equally talented and legendary artists, but they promise not to stop there. They want people to hear stories while they play. They want to inspire others. They want to make sure that they won't be ignored. As they dangerously and deliciously tread the fine line between roots and modern rock, the band The J.O.B. expects that you join them too.

The J.O.B.'s entire album 'Back to the World' is available at iTunes distributed by JMD Records/INgrooves (a partner of Universal Music Group).
