Martin Solveig Says 'Hello' With No 1 Smash Single; 'Hello' Heralds Upcoming New Album 'Smash'!
NEW YORK, NY (Top40 Charst/ Atlantic Records) Big Beat/Atlantic recording artist Martin Solveig has scored his biggest US hit to date with the breathtaking new single, "Hello." The track - which sees the world-renowned French DJ collaborating with Martina Sorbara of Canadian electropop combo Dragonette - is currently No 1 on iTunes' "Top Dance Songs" chart.

Having already peaked at No 1 on Billboard's "Hot Dance/Club Play Songs" ranking, "Hello" has also spent more time in the top 10 on Billboard's "Dance Airplay" chart than any other song this year and is rapidly becoming a crossover summer sensation. The song is now bulleting its way up Billboard's "Hot 100," while also reaching the top 25 of the "Pop Songs" ranking of mainstream top 40 radio airplay detections as measured by Nielsen BDS. Furthermore, "Hello" is now among the top 40 on Billboard's "Digital Songs" chart spanning the week's top-downloaded songs across all genres.

"Hello" - which will be featured on Solveig's hugely anticipated new album, "SMASH," which is slated for release this fall - is already a multi-platinum chart-topping success in Europe as well as across the entirety of North America. The song has just been certified for double platinum sales in Canada and is currently No 1 on Mexico's overall iTunes "Top Songs" chart, and has hit No 1 on Mexico's anglo radio chart and No 2 on Mexico's overall radio chart. Meanwhile, here in the US, "Hello" is poised to soon reach RIAA gold certification having already achieved sales exceeding 350,000.

As if all that weren't enough, "Hello" is also a worldwide YouTube blockbuster. The track's companion video clip - shot on location at the Roland Garros French Tennis Open in front of 12,000 spectators, and featuring cameos from real international tennis stars such as Novak Djokovic, Gaƫl Monfils, Olivia Sanchez, and Mathilde Johansson - has now logged over 40 million views. The creative clip was recently named as "Video of the Day" on VH1's Morning Buzz, while also being featured on MTV's popular The Seven. The official video can be seen here: https://youtu.be/kK42LZqO0wA

"Hello" can also be heard soundtracking both Trident Gum's "Trident Vitality: Vigorate" TV campaign as well as promotional spots for Fox's upcoming Zooey Deschanel sitcom, The New Girl. What's more, the track was included in a recent episode of The CW's highly rated 90210.

Solveig will celebrate the success of "Hello" with an upcoming live set at Insomniac's annual Electric Daisy Carnival, scheduled for June 24th through 26th at Las Vegas' Las Vegas Motor Speedway. On August 31st, Martin returns to Miami for the 3rd time this year, performing at Liv; and on Labor Day Weekend Martin will join the electronic music royalty performing at Electric Zoo, slated for Friday, September 2nd at New York City's Randall's Island Park.

An internationally beloved DJ, producer, and performer, Martin Solveig is one of dance music's most in-demand artists and creative icons. At 21, the Parisian DJ started his own Mixture Stereophonic label and released his first dance hit single, "Heart of Africa." Solveig's first album, "SUR LA TERRE," arrived in 2002 earning critical acclaim, and was followed in early 2005 by the hit single "Everybody." 2005's "HEDONIST" and 2008's "C'EST LA VIE" confirmed Solveig as a major figure in modern electronic music, and introduced his gifts as both vocalist and pop songwriter.

In 2009, Solveig was presented with two of the most prestigious accolades any Frenchman could hope to win: the "Chevalier Des Arts et Des Lettres" (honoring his remarkable contribution to the arts) and the "Artiste de Musiques Electroniques de l'Annee" award at the French Victoires de la Musique, both standing as testament to his ever-growing popularity and forward-thinking style and creativity.

The upcoming "SMASH" looks set to be Solveig's full-fledged musical masterpiece, bursting at the seams with this multi-faceted talent's trademark wit, originality, and innovation. In addition to Dragonette, the album sees Martin joined by an array of stellar guests, including Bloc Party frontman and acclaimed solo artist Kele, UK-based pop songstress Sunday Girl, and electro-hop star Dev.
