New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ BMG) Hak has been active as a singer/songwriter for some years now. Originating from the electronic scene she worked with Berlin based T. Raumschmiere and many others. She composed music to fifteen poems by a famous Dutch poet, released two albums (Silence feels safe & Love's victory March) and composed music for documentaries. Lilian Hak took a flight of fancy from her native Holland to the bustling city of Bangkok, armed with nothing more than her fascination for the film music of yesteryear and a collection of old movies. High above the steamy city streets on the 22nd floor of a friend's apartment her latest album, 'Old Powder New Guns' came into being: a patchwork of samples cut from the cloth of old classics. The music from these films served as the inspiration behind this collection of songs charged with drama, glamour and suspense. Three singles were taken from the critically acclaimed album until now. 'Never speak to strangers', a song that would not be misplaced in a Tarantino production. 'My only friend' and most recent 'Rebels Outlaws Misfits' for which Lilian managed to get a remix from British high profile producer Matthew Herbert. Currently Lilian is touring and from July 1st she will be moving to Berlin to find inspiration and write for her new album. 'Old Powder New Guns' is an international sounding album and BMG will help her getting her music out there. Lilian: " I really look forward to a creative & successful collaboration with BMG Rights Management. As an independent songwriter it feels good to take the next step. A lot has happened in the music business and I think it is smart to combine forces. I live by the following motto: Don't hold onto the past, the future holds more promise. I have the fullest confidence that BMG and myself will have a great future together. Maaike Vonk, Manager Creative & Marketing at BMG Benelux: "BMG has a really strong international network and we love to use this to promote Lilian's music. I see a lot of opportunities when it comes to synchronization. I am happy that Lilian chose BMG and I look forward to working with this talented songwriter."
