NEW YORK (Darkness Fans Website) - Darkness lead singer Justin Hawkins has revealed that he is about to undergo throat surgery. The falsetto-singing frontman says that his recurring throat problems are the reason behind recent cancellations on the band's U.S. tour.

Hawkins is scheduled to go under the knife later this month - which may sideline the band for some time as the singer recovers. Luckily, the surgery coincides with an already scheduled month-long break for the band.
"They don't anticipate that it'll be any permanent damage but it will take a while to get it back to normal," Hawkins told reporters.
