The singer, producer, multi-instrumentalist, and part-time fashion designer has produced tracks for both Das Racistmixtapes, opened for a full Mayer Hawthorne tour, and won praise from the likes of super-producer Mark Ronson. Gordon's music is a mix of 80's new wave, funk, and R&B, with a dash of hip hop swagger and the DIY spirit of indie culture.

Each track on it touches on multiple genres, ranging from disco to psychedelia to krautrock to punk - all coming together to create a unique breed of artful pop music. The band's live show is similarly both fun and brainy, falling into the tradition of Devo, Talking Heads, The Eurythmics, and other conceptual bands with a knack for infectious dane grooves. YACHT have released the first two tracks offShangri-La- "Utopia," a frantic slice of disco-funk... and the dark synth-pop anthem, "Dystopia (The Earth is on Fire)."

HOLCOMBE WALLER

"Waller's new album, Into the Dark Unknown, is a come-to-Jesus moment come to life, a clear-eyed look at confusion that's as arresting as it is intimate. The album leaves Waller's voice front and center, and the result is strong, theatrical and wonderfully nuanced, all at the same time." - NPR
Holcombe's intimate chamber folk has been getting a lot of rave reviews lately - check out The New York Times and NPR's high praise for Holcombe's performances at SXSW. Also check out Holcombe's performance on WNYC's Soundcheck HERE for a sample of his stripped down live set. Holcombe is preparing to re-release his latest record Into The Dark Unknown on June 21st via Napoleon Records. Holcombe Waller will play a Ben-In Sessionat New York's Ace Hotel on June 23rd.

Wednesday, June 22 @ Cameo - 10pm Album Release Show
Jessica 6

New York City's Jessica 6 creates soul music in its purest form, no matter the tempo. Their debut album, See The Light, was released June 7th on Peacefrog Records. The album moves from pulsating electronic sheen to uncompromisingly rugged R&B, and back again. Jessica 6 is fronted by the beguiling and beautiful chanteuse Nomi Ruiz. Equal parts high-fashion and street smart, her smoky, emotive vocals are matched by her spellbinding style. Her lyrics create a world full of enraptured lovers, endless nights, fame-seekers, and broken hearts. Bassist Andrew Raposo and keyboardist Morgan Wiley deftly meld disco, hip-hop, electro and classic house, commanding you to dance while simultaneously making your heart sink.

Wednesday, June 22 - Santos Party House (Opening of the Bicycle Film Festival)
Rubblebucket

When The Bicycle Film Festival went looking for their headliner for their opening night, Rubblebucket was an obvious choice. The band's is full of avid cyclists - the band wrote an ode to the elegant 2-wheeled contraption on their last record, the simply titled "Bikes." They've also been turning heads with their blend of Fela Kuti style afrobeat with dancy indie pop. Last month, Stereogum praised the band, premiering the band's latest video for "Silly Fathers," and just this week The Street Date and Paste Magazine gave the band glowing reviews, with the latter writing that "I would call them one of the year's most promising young bands-but they're already better than that." The band's show at Santos will be a special one for the band. Their new record Omega La La (Sin Duda Records, Download HERE) is hitting stores the previous day. The new album is a trip, showing off not only the band's virtuosity, but a;s DFA producer Eric Broucek's (LCD Soundsystem, Cut Copy, Hercules and Love Affair) clean, minimal production.

Sunday, June 26 - Bowery Ballroom
Pajama Club

Crowded House frontman and songwriter Neil Finn has formed a new band with his wife Sharon called Pajama Club. Their self-titled debut is out Sept 13th and is a mixture of groove-based garage rock and electronic bleeps and squelches. Neil and Sharon trade off playful yet often haunting vocals, and Neil's mastery of pop songcraft is evident in the ample hooks and winding song structures of each track. Click HERE to listen to "From A Friend To A Friend," which is a perfect slice of indie pop juxtaposed with noisy sheets of guitar lurking beneath.
