New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Universal Republic Records Publicity) Sydney, Australia indie sensation BOY & BEAR set their sights on the United States with tour dates planned after their highly anticipated appearance at LOLLAPALOOZA 2011 August 7 in Chicago, IL.
The quintet will release their debut full-length, MOONFIRE, on Universal Republic Records digitally this summer, and they'll be giving audiences a taste of the album on these upcoming dates.
BOY & BEAR have already stirred up a considerable buzz. Rolling Stone named the band "Artist To Watch in 2011", while they were Triple J's 2010 "Unearthed Artist of the Year". Nylon Magazine writes, "Boy & Bear has a mellow beach-folk with tight harmonies, acoustic guitars, and folk melodies". In addition, their brand of folky ethereal-pop has won over notable fans such as Laura Marling and Marcus Mumford.
Produced by Boy & Bear and Joe Chiccarelli [My Morning Jacket, The Strokes, The Shins] in Nashville's Blackbird Studios, MOONFIRE sees the band create a catchy cosmically delightful collection of daring pop. With just the right dose of glitch, banjo, mandolin, and guitar, MOONFIRE climbs out of this world and into a new creative stratosphere for BOY & BEAR.
Songs like "Feeding the Line" come to life as a pastiche of colorful harmonies and vibrant soundscapes. Meanwhile, whistling brush against a sun-soaked acoustic guitar on the elegantly entrancing "Part-Time Believer", with a wistful refrain. It's the perfect mix of the past and the future.
Get familiar with BOY & BEAR at one of their scheduled tour dates.
