Music New Music West will be in Edmonton July 21st to the 23rd and will feature many diverse and talented artists. The event will also give away $40,000 in prizes, courtesy of Edmonton's Lite 95.7FM and Harvard Broadcasting. There will be two prizes of $20,000 cash. One prize will be awarded to the best live performance during the New Music West Festival. The other prize will be awarded to the Best Song, as part of a demo listening session called 'NMW Song Search' at the NMW Conference on July 23rd.
Co-produced by 29 Productions and Union Events the 20 year old event showcases emerging artists and has been a staple of the Western Canadian music scene since 1990. July 21-23rd 2011 will mark the first time that the event will take place outside of Vancouver.

Panels of Experts from Record Labels, Management, Film & TV, Radio, Live Concerts, Digital Marketing, and the NMW 2011 Song Search where the winning band will be handed a cheque for $20,000!!!
NMW Song Search and $20,000 Prize: A panel of experienced industry experts from Radio, Management, Live Concerts and Studio Recording will listen to the recorded demos and tracks from ANY artists who wish to register for the conference. The best recording will be determined by the judges and the winning artist will receive the Harvard Broadcasting Exposure Award and
a cheque for $20,000, presented by Lite 95.7FM!
To be eligible for the NMW Song Search 2011: You must be registered for the Conference by July 23rd at 10AM. Bring a song on a CD, iPOD, or USB drive, to the Conference venue at 11am on July 23rd, to secure a spot. At least one of the performers of the song must attend the Conference, and be prepared to discuss the song with the judges. The song must be completely original. No cover songs permitted.
