Martin Solveig Says 'Hello' To RIAA Gold! Parisian Electronic Superstar's International No 1 Hit Proves Equally Successful In The USA
NEW YORK, NY (Top40 Charts/ Atlantic Records) "Hello," the breathtaking hit single from Big Beat recording artist Martin Solveig, has been certified gold by the RIAA for sales in excess of 500,000. Having peaked at No 1 on both iTunes' "Top Dance Songs Chart" and Billboard's "Hot Dance/Club Play Songs" ranking, the track - which sees the world-renowned French DJ collaborating with Canadian electropop combo Dragonette - is Solveig's biggest US hit to date.

What's more, "Hello" has spent more time in the top 10 on Billboard's "Dance Airplay" chart than any other song this year and is rapidly becoming a crossover summer sensation. The song is now bulleting its way towards the top 40 on Billboard's "Hot 100," while additionally reaching the top 20 of the "Pop Songs" ranking of mainstream top 40 radio airplay detections as measured by Nielsen BDS. Furthermore, "Hello" is among the top 40 on Billboard's "Digital Songs" chart spanning the week's top-downloaded songs across all genres.

"Hello" is already a multi-platinum chart-topping success in Europe as well as across the entirety of North America, having sold over 1.5 million copies worldwide. The song has been certified for double platinum sales in Australia, and has been certified for platinum sales in both Canada and Italy. Furthermore, the song is holding steady at No 1 on Mexico's overall iTunes "Top Songs" chart, and has hit No 1 on Mexico's Anglo radio chart and No 2 on Mexico's overall radio chart.

As if all that weren't enough, "Hello" is also a worldwide YouTube blockbuster. The track's companion video clip - shot on location at the Roland Garros French Tennis Open in front of 12,000 spectators, and featuring cameos from real international tennis stars such as Novak Djokovic, Gae"l Monfils, Olivia Sanchez, and Mathilde Johansson - has now logged over 50 million views. The creative clip, which has been added into rotation on both MTV and VH1, was recently named as "Video of the Day" on VH1's Morning Buzz, while also being featured on MTV's popular The Seven. The official video can be seen here: https://youtu.be/kK42LZqO0wA.

"Hello" can also be heard soundtracking both Trident Gum's "Trident Vitality: Vigorate" TV campaign as well as promotional spots for Fox's upcoming Zooey Deschanel sitcom, New Girl. The track was also included in a recent episode of The CW's highly rated 90210.

Last weekend saw Solveig celebrating the success of "Hello" with an acclaimed live set at Insomniac's annual Electric Daisy Carnival at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. He will make his third Miami performance this year with an August 31st appearance at LIV. Labor Day Weekend will then see Solveig among the electronic music royalty performing at Electric Zoo, slated for Friday, September 2nd at New York City's Randall's Island Park.

An internationally beloved DJ, producer, and performer, Martin Solveig is one of dance music's most in-demand artists and creative icons. At 21, the Parisian DJ started his own Mixture Stereophonic label and released his first dance hit single, "Heart of Africa." Solveig's first album, "SUR LA TERRE," arrived in 2002 earning critical acclaim, and was followed in early 2005 by the hit single "Everybody." 2005's "HEDONIST" and 2008's "C'EST LA VIE" confirmed Solveig as a major figure in modern electronic music, and introduced his gifts as both vocalist and pop songwriter.

In 2009, Solveig was presented with two of the most prestigious accolades any Frenchman could hope to win: the "Chevalier Des Arts et Des Lettres" (honoring his remarkable contribution to the arts) and the "Artiste de Musiques Electroniques de l'Annee" award at the French Victoires de la Musique, both standing as testament to his ever-growing popularity and forward-thinking style and creativity.
