Warner Bros. Records Releases Transformers: Dark Of The Moon Original Score
BURBANK, CA. (Top40 Charts/ Warner Bros. Records) Warner Bros. Records has released Transformers: Dark of the Moon - Original Motion Picture Score available digitally through major digital outlets including iTunes and Amazon. For the third film in the series, director Michael Bay once again called on Steve Jablonsky, who scored the previous two films Transformers and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, to pen the original music for the film.

"With all of these big huge images in Michael Bay films," said Jablonsky, "the music needs to have the same bigness, otherwise it just doesn't sound right."

Steve Jablonsky developed his career as a film composer collaborating with composers known for their big action-oriented scores: Hans Zimmer and Harry Gregson-Williams. Jablonsky wrote additional music for such films as Bad Boys II, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, Armageddon, Tears of the Sun, Pearl Harbor, Hannibal and Deceiver. It was through his work on these films that Jablonsky began his association with Michael Bay.

In 2005, Bay called upon Jablonsky to compose the music for his futuristic thriller The Island. Jablonsky also worked with Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes on the original music for the horror remakes A Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, The Hitcher, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and The Amityville Horror.

On television, Jablonsky's music can be heard every week on the smash hit ABC series Desperate Housewives. He also composed the score for the award-winning telefilm Live From Baghdad, as well as several series, including Threat Matrix and ESPN's Sports Century: The Century's Greatest Athletes. As the world of video games becomes more sophisticated with each passing year, the need for exciting, innovative music has grown with it. Jablonsky's striking melodies can be heard in such top selling games as Gears of War 2, Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, Transformers: The Game, and Command & Conquer 3: Kane's Wrath. He also composed the score for The Sims 3, the latest sequel in the top selling Sims franchise, and recently completed the score for Gears of War 3.

Jablonsky recently completed the score for David Gordon Green's epic comedy adventure, Your Highness, starring James Franco, Natalie Portman, and Danny McBride.

Returning to work on Transformers: Dark of the Moon with Jablonsky is the band Linkin Park. Jablonsky incorporated the band's new song "Iridescent" into the score. Said Jablonsky, "We all understand each other musically even though we might have different methods or different sounds. From day one we all know what the films needs. It can't be light, fluffy music, it's got to come from [the heart]."

When a mysterious event from Earth's past erupts into the present day it threatens to bring a war to Earth so big that the Transformers alone will not be able to save us. Transformers: Dark of the Moon stars Shia LaBeouf, Josh Duhamel, John Turturro, Tyrese Gibson, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Patrick Dempsey, Kevin Dunn, Julie White with John Malkovich, and Frances McDormand.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon is directed by Michael Bay, written by Ehren Kruger and produced by Don Murphy & Tom DeSanto, Lorenzo diBonaventura and Ian Bryce. The executive producers are Steven Spielberg, Michael Bay, Brian Goldner and Mark Vahradian. Paramount Pictures presents Transformers: Dark of the Moon, released by Paramount Pictures worldwide on June 29th. (c) 2011 Paramount Pictures Corporation. All Rights Reserved.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon - Original Motion Picture Score on Warner Bros. Records is available at major digital retail outlets including iTunes and Amazon.
