NEW YORK (Elektra announcement) - Elektra/Atlantic recording group Phish has announced details of their eagerly anticipated new album, dubbed 'Undermind'. The Burlington, Vermont-based band's 11th studio album - and first since 2002's acclaimed "ROUND ROOM" - will arrive in stores nationwide on June 15th. The album's first single, "The Connection," is set to impact at radio outlets nationwide on May 24th.

The initial pressing of 'Undermind' will include a special bonus DVD featuring a 26-minute short film, "Specimens of Beauty." Directed by longtime Phish photographer Danny Clinch, the DVD chronicles the making of the album.

Produced by Tchad Blake - known for his work with such artists as Pearl Jam, Elvis Costello, Peter Gabriel, Tom Waits, Los Lobos, and Sheryl Crow - 'Undermind' was recorded at the Barn in Vermont and mixed at Real World Studios in England. The album is Phish's most engaging and accessible collection to date, while maintaining the high standards of innovation and invention that the band's fans have come to expect. While much of 'Undermind' consists of tightly focused, intricately arranged songs, the album also includes a number of longer, more expansive tracks that highlight Phish's legendary improvisational gifts. (complete album track listing below)

Phish will celebrate the release of 'Undermind' by embarking on a six-city summer tour, kicking off June 17th and 18th at Coney Island's KeySpan Park in Brooklyn, New York, home of the Brooklyn Cyclones minor league baseball club. Other stops include Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Saratoga, New York; Verizon Wireless Music Center in Noblesville, Indiana; Alpine Valley Music Theater in East Troy, Wisconsin; the Tweeter Center in Mansfield, Massachusetts; and the Tweeter Center at the Waterfront in Camden, New Jersey. (see attached itinerary)

In addition, Phish is currently hard at work seeking necessary approvals to stage a major summer festival in their native Vermont. This event - tentatively slated for the weekend of August 14th and 15th - will mark Phish's first-ever home-state festival. Further details will be announced shortly.
