Country Duo, O'Shea Recognized As 'Friends Of Australia' To Help Promote Australian Tourism
Nashville, TN (Top40 Charts/ Tourism Australia) Nashville based, Australian-born husband and wife country duo, Mark and Jay O'Shea have been chosen to feature in the "Friends of Australia" program, working closely with Tourism Australia to help promote travel Down Under.

The Friends of Australia program involves sports stars, fashion designers, leading chefs, environmentalists, entrepreneurs and artists, along with some of Australia's most influential high-achievers and opinion leaders.

"Tourism Australia's Friends of Australia program has proved to be very successful in getting influential local and internationally-based Australians to motivate and inspire others about our great country, through their passion, their story-telling and extended networks," said Andrew McEvoy, Managing Director, Tourism Australia.

Influential people such as the celebrity chef Curtis Stone, children's supergroup The Wiggles, entrepreneur Richard Branson, and Academy award-winning director Baz Luhrmann (Moulin Rouge and Australia) are among the advocates.

"We are thrilled to be a part of this program and humbled to be included in such prestigious company," says Jay O'Shea.

"It's second nature for us to want to share the beauty of Australia with the world and we're excited to be able to take that beyond just Vegemite and Kangaroos!" adds Mark.

O'Shea's testimonial videos will be released this week on-line at https://lensonaustralia.viotv.com and on Tourism Australia's Facebook page of more than 1.7 Million fans.

About O'Shea: With their seamless harmonies, eclectic country-soul sensibility carrying them into the top five of the hit CMT television series, Can You Duet, husband and wife duo O'Shea were welcomed wholeheartedly onto one of country music's most prominent stages. And while Can You Duet offered America its first introduction to O'Shea, the show in fact represents merely a single step in this talented duo's nearly 20-year musical journey. Individually, Mark and Jay O'Shea have an impressive string of writing and artist credits that span the globe; while Mark has won multiple CMAA awards (the Australian equivalent of the US CMA Awards), Jay has penned a No 1 pop song in Europe and toured as a backing vocalist for rock legends, INXS. Their recent single "SMASH" reached No 1 on the Australian Country Music Channel's Top 30 and their debut album Mr & Mrs is set for release later this year.
